About This Work
This series of panels depicting cloud formations is an extremely interesting evocation of that which is familiar to us. Terry uses heavy applications of charcoal on paper which is then rubbed so that varying tones and shades appear. This technique produces minimalist-style images which are both ordinary and yet captivating, and also strangely like a painted surface. The paper is adhered to Foamex in the manner of large scale photography and the works are designed to be hung together to produce large panels of skyscape.
