About This Work
The work is a collection of many drawings with added stitching in which Beverley has attempted to capture the preliminary sketches which artists use in preparation for later works. Artists often have collections of sketch books in which they capture gestures, glances, subtle movements that may or may not be incorporated into major pieces in the future. These sketches are frequently wonderful in suggesting mood, emotion and period and Beverley is here trying to bring such work to the forefront in this clever and captivating large scale display.
Artist Background
Beverley is one of the outstanding students of her year at Ulster University's Textile Department in the College of Fine Art and the work displayed here is part of her final year display which will be exhibited from June 4th. She combines great skill as a textile student with excellent drawing ability and has a flexible approach to commission work and collaboration with other artists.
